Who We Are
Alexander N. Christakis, Ph.D.
Alexander "Aleco" Christakis, born in Athens, Greece, came to the United States in 1956, attended Princeton University and completed his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics at Yale University. He applies rigorous scientific principles to the study of human organizations and societal systems.
Dr.Christiakis has served on the faculties of Yale University, Georgetown University, University of Athens, and the University of Virginia. He also spent five years at George Mason University as the Director of the Center for Interactive Management. He has published over 100 papers on the management of complexity in refereed journals.
He serves on the Editorial Boards of Systems Research and Behavioral Sciences, Systems, Journal of Transdiscplinary Systems Science, and the Journal of Aplied Systems Studies. He is currently serving as an Advisor to "The Technology of Social Systems Design," of the Saybrook Graduate School, and to the Ambassadors Program of International Society for Systems Sciences. His latest book is Human Science: Pragmatic Design Dialogue (2005). He has received numerous awards and distinctions including the "DEMOSOPHIA Award," and the "Creative Programming Award" from the National University Continuing Education Association.
Michael
L. Silverman, Ed.D.
Michael Silverman is a Licensed Psychologist and Organizational Trainer/Consultant. Dr. Silverman specializes in relationship problem solving (Organizational, couple, parent-child), anxiety, depression, and reactivity issues. He works with individual and group clients of all ages. Dr. Silverman teaches Counseling Principles and Psychopathology courses at LaSalle University.
Dr. Silverman has more than 25 years experience as a Management and Training coach/consultant in the private and public sectors. He has provided programs for such notable organizations as Independence Blue Cross, Rohm & Haas, Penn Mutual Life Insurance and The Philadelphia Zoo.
Dr. Silverman's training specialties include employee performance management, team building and motivaiton, and customer-centered communication/selling.
Dr. Silverman also provides executive role coaching to help managers perform more effectively as supervisors, with superiors and with customers. He facilitates team-planning projects, from definition of overall goals to final evaluation of results.
Dr. Silverman has developed interventions and programs to help employees cope with and overcome performance and social anxiety for greater professionalism and effectiveness. Dr. Silverman's expertise and interpersonal sensitivity have led to highly successful results with all levels of organizations.
